Ms. Angelo's Concerts coming up...
|
My name is Kimberlyn Angelo and I am in my 8th year of teaching band! This is my 4th year in the Olathe School District. Previously, I taught in the Tonganoxie and De Soto school districts. I am actually an Olathe graduate myself! (Go Bluejays, Bulldogs, and Hawks!)
My primary instrument is percussion and I continue to perform as the principal percussionist in the Kansas City Wind Symphony and Crossroads Wind Symphony. I also perform on french horn in the De Soto Brass Band. Even though percussion is my primary instrument, I actually started on piano when I was 3 years old. I've continued to play piano throughout my life. I also love to play guitar and have played guitar for over 15 years. Being a musician has given me the unique opportunity to perform in Carnegie Hall, Pearl Harbor, Liverpool England, Kauffman Stadium, the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts, among many other awesome performance venues! I graduated with my Bachelor's of Music Education in 2012 from the University of Kansas and graduated with my Master's of Music Education in 2016 also from the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk! When I am not teaching band or in a rehearsal of my own, I like to paint, travel, enjoy time with my family, spend time outside, exercise, watch old tv shows, go to concerts and I have recently picked up photography! I teach 5th grade band at Bentwood, Countryside and Regency Place Elementary. I am teaching 6th grade percussion at California Trail Middle School and I am also teaching percussion at Olathe East High School. |
